Holy Childhood offers a 3-year-old program on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:50-11:00 am (half day) or Monday-Friday 7:50 am to 2:30 pm (full day). Our teachers, Mrs. Cozzi and Mrs. Beck, are Illinois state certified, and they are Catechist trained through the Diocese of Belleville. Mrs. Cozzi will be in teh classroom Tuesday and Thursday. Mrs. Beck will be in the room Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Mrs. Cozzi and Mrs. Beck provide a positive environment that is loving, safe, and engaging for your child.
We use the Mother Goose Curriculum which provides activities to nurture your child’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. Your child grows spiritually under the Catechist of the Good Shepard Program combined with supplemental bible stories and faith-based crafts. Our approach to learning and spiritual growth uses play, imagination, and hands-on activities. In our Home center children learn cooperation with others and the usefulness of proper verbal skills. In our Block center the children experiment with form and balance. Using art allows us to help the children express individuality, experiences, and knowledge. Through a variety of media, the children learn to focus and advance their fine motor and tone manipulative skills.
We encourage supportive relationships between the teacher and families. We use the Dojo app which provides daily communication between the teacher and the family via videos and pictures.
Mrs. Cozzi
My name is Jody Cozzi, and my family has lived in Mascoutah since 2011. My family loves Mascoutah so much that my husband retired from the AF, and we continue to live in this fabulous community! I have been teaching 3 yr old Preschool at HCS since 2013. I have four children Melanie, Cas, Avery, and Leo. All four graduated from HCS. Melanie is a Nurse in Denver, Cas is in Theology Seminary, Avery is a Junior at Benedictine College, and Leo is a Junior at MHS. Also a part of our family are our dogs, Dixie and Gertrude. I feel so very blessed to teach at HCS! Students are incredible and there’s no place I’d rather be!
