The underlying instruction strategy at our Catholic school offers a unique balance between teacher-guided and open-ended learning opportunities. The combination of this organized and free-play approach is intended to provide opportunities for your child to interact, explore, and relate successfully to his or her environment.
The Pre-K program uses a multi-sensory hands-on learning approach to teach fine motor skills, auditory and visual learning using center time, books, songs, technology, and art. Free play, story time, prayer time, music, crafts, and outdoor play fill the students’ day. Children participate in the Catechist of the Good Shepherd program and engage with 6th grade buddies for activities throughout the year.
We strive to ensure that we provide the foundation rooted in the Gospel message and rich in traditions and liturgical practices of our Catholic faith. Parents are confident in knowing their children are being educated in a comfortable, nurturing, and faith filled environment which provides an educational curriculum that allows children to achieve their highest potential.

Mrs. Beck
Hello my name is Mrs. Ronda Beck and I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this year! This is my 5th year at HCS teaching Pre-K. For 21 years I was a stay at home mom caring for my family. Previous to that I taught kindergarten in District 118 in Belleville at Abraham Lincoln School for 4 years as well as 2nd grade PSR for 6 years. My husband Danny and I are parishioners of Holy Childhood of Jesus Church. All 7 of our children have attended HCS and I am an alumna. Our oldest, Bridget, is an 7th grade ELA and religion teacher at Academy of St. Pope John Paul in Boston, MA. Isaac is in the Jesuit Novitiate in Denver, CO. Tommy is a junior at Ave Maria University in FL. Annelise is a sophomore at University of Mary in ND. Jordan is a junior at MHS, Luke is a freshman at MHS, and MaryGrace is in 6th at HCS. My hobbies include singing at mass, watching and playing sports with my kids, and reading books and watching videos about the faith I love and the lives of saints. I am passionate about sharing my faith and love of Jesus with my own children and my little pre-k friends!
Please feel free to email me, message me on Class DoJo or call after school with any questions or info you need to share with me. I pray that by working together we can have a wonderful school year for your child!
