Mrs. Renth

My name is Kathy Renth.  I grew up on a dairy farm in nearby Albers, Illinois and  attended Albers Elementary, Mater Dei High School, Kaskaskia College, and SIU-E. I am married and am the mother of 4 daughters. My daughters are all proud graduates of HCS!  I am also the grandmother of 7 grandsons who keep my heart and hands full!

This is my 35th year teaching and my 28th year at Holy Childhood. I currently teach 5th-8th grade social studies and  5th-7th grade religion.  Needless to say, Holy Childhood is very close to my heart!

I have instructed the fifth graders to keep their religion tests and notes to use for their unit tests.

We have finished chapter 8.  It is about the sacrament of Confirmation and its connection to Baptism. The test over chapter 8 will be on Tuesday, January 15th.  We will then begin chapter 9 which is about the celebration of Confirmation.

January 14-18, 2019

We will finish chapter 9 which is about the journey to the Promised Land.  Chapter 9 test will be on Thursday, January 17th. We will go to Eucharistic Adoration on Tuesday.

We have our first DARE class on Monday, January 14th!

We have finished chapter 9.  It is about the power of God’s love active in the world today.  The test over chapter 9 will be on Tuesday, January 15th. We will then begin chapter 10.  The theme of this chapter is Jesus’ forgiveness and healing.
